University at Buffalo 3D printing work group collaboration

Working Group Overview

  • Purpose: Create a scalable 3D printing curriculum and support pipeline for students and campus organizations. Collaborate with fellow project teams such as UAV and e-NABLE.

Experience from 2018-2020

Leadership

  • Spearheaded operations in calibrating and troubleshooting additive manufacturing equipment
  • Established online training curriculums centralized on FDM and 3D printing techniques for self-learning practices
  • Conducted university workshops to instruct students for best practices to 3D print independently
  • Printed and assembled hundreds of faceshields to be given out to medical professionals during the peak of COVID-19

Achievements

  • Founding leader of the 3D Printing Working Group at the University at Buffalo
  • Recruited over a dozen members through workshop modules and trainings
  • Established solid foundations for the group, resulting in ongoing endeavors to this day
